MARFRIG’S MINEIROS UNIT RECEIVES APPROVAL FOR EXPORT TO THE UNITED STATES

Marfrig, the world's largest hamburger producer and one of the world leaders in the beef market has just had another of its units approved for export to the United States: the Mineiros operation in the State of Goiás.

After a thorough audit process, which found it to comply with the sanitary protocol demanded by the US, the unit was approved. Set up in 2007, Marfrig's Mineiros unit has created 1,100 direct jobs.

“This recommendation comes at a highly propitious moment because of the excellent scenario in the United States, which is showing a strong demand for Brazilian beef. One interesting point is that we are using our American platform in order to add further value to exports," says Alisson Navarro, Marfrig export director.

There are currently seven other Marfrig units exporting to the USA. These are: Alegrete (RS - Rio Grande do Sul), Bagé (RS), Bataguassu (MS - Mato Grosso do Sul), Chupinguaia (RO - Rondônia), Pampeano (RS), Promissão (SP - São Paulo) and São Gabriel (RS).
