Marfrig, the world leader in hamburger production and one of the world's largest beef producing companies, is investing in order constantly to improve customer and supplier relations. Two projects stood out in 2021: new portals for overseas customers and partner customs agents, computerizing their relations with the company.
Using integrated technologies, Marfrig's overseas customers — such as major retailers and global restaurant chains — can keep track of their orders from placement to receiving, including all the customs documentation. The channel also enables better follow-up by the company's commercial teams working out of Latin American units (Brazil, Uruguay, Chile and Argentina), standardizing their sales processes.
“This is a great leap forward in the quality of service and in the speed of information. All the company's South American units have an integrated platform for including orders, enabling worldwide follow-up of the entire commercial process, cutting red tape, costs and time, and centralizing the information," says Joel Santiago, Marfrig's technology director.
All the company's European clients, for example, have already adopted the platform. By using the new digital system, the traditional commercial process has achieved gains of up to two days. “It is a safe, rapid and agile environment which improves the standard of information and service-rendering for international clients, and facilitates the work of the post-sales team," says Santiago.
Customs agents
The portal for customs agents provides support for customs processes, and enhances document exchange and the availability of information on shipments; it also makes post-sales more responsive. The system can generate such data as process times and units' revenue, allowing Marfrig to take more strategic decisions together with each of their partners.
More than 30 (direct and outsourced) professionals from Marfrig's information technology department have been working on both of these projects since March 2020. The platforms can be accessed in their desktop or smart phone versions at any time of the day.
